Michał Ryniak is a documentary photographer and photojournalist working for Gazeta Wyborcza, covering social and political stories in Poland and abroad.
In Poland, he has documented the aftermath of the 2024 floods in Lower Silesia, where entire towns were destroyed and communities left without access to basic infrastructure.
Abroad, he has reported on Nepalis recruited into the Russian army and sent to the front lines in Ukraine, often under false promises.
Most recently, he covered the election campaign in Hungary, documenting a deeply divided society during a period of political change.
